Kathy Stapp

Kathy Stapp is International Secretary-Treasurer for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. Prior to being unanimously elected to this role in August 2023, she served as Administrative Assistant to the International Secretary-Treasurer and as Director of Human Resources and Benefits Programs. Stapp has had a long and diverse career at the union, which has provided her with incredible knowledge of the organization, its structure, history and policies. She began in 1994, originally working as a “floater” covering the switchboard and mail room and eventually working in the Accounting Department. After a hiatus in 1999, Stapp rejoined the Boilermakers’ staff in 2008 in the International Secretary-Treasurer’s office. Over the years her responsibilities evolved, and she was promoted to more challenging roles as her experience grew. Stapp is a member of Local 627 (Phoenix). She earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing, with a minor in English, from Kansas State University and the University of San Diego.
