David Rosenfeld has been practicing union-side labor law since his graduation from University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 1973. He’s taught labor law courses at the UC Berkeley School of Law for many years. Rosenfeld has argued approximately 250 cases before federal and state courts of appeal, including ground-breaking cases before the United States Supreme Court, the California Supreme Court and the National Labor Relations Board. The cases established important legal precedents and broadened rights for unions and working people. Rosenfeld takes pride in developing creative and unusual tactics for unions and workers and is a prolific author and presenter on such strategies. His book “Offensive Bargaining” has been widely circulated, and he has presented on bargaining strategies to unions across the country and beyond. He’s one of the authors of “California Workers’ Rights,” published by the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment at UC Berkeley. He also is one of the authors of “Hey, the Boss Just Called Me Into the Office,” which explains Weingarten rights. His firm has represented the Boilermakers since before he started in 1973, and some of his first cases were for the Boilermakers.
