Erica Stewart is the Boilermakers' Diversity Organizer and Recruiting Coordinator, M.O.R.E. Work Investment Fund. She is a U.S. Army veteran from Prichard, Alabama. Stewart is a proud member of Local 693 in Moss Point, Mississippi, since 1997, starting as a shipfitter before becoming a journeyman welder at Huntington Ingalls shipyard.

Stewart has served her local in multiple leadership roles, including chief steward, apprenticeship coordinator, metal trades organizer, financial secretary and two-terms as president. Under her leadership, membership grew from 1,100 to 2,500.
She was appointed as an International Rep in 2017 and later as National Coordinator of Women in the Trades Initiatives in 2021. A graduate of the 2018 Harvard Trade Union Program, she also represents the Boilermakers on NABTU’s Tradeswomen’s Committee and has co-emceed its annual conference for eight years.

As Diversity Organizer and Recruiting Coordinator Stewart spends her days talking to junior high, high school, vocational students, college students and veterans about the protection and benefits of working with the Boilermakers union. As a recruiter, Stewart is passionate about introducing students and veterans to the Boilermakers and advocating for union jobs that provide stability and opportunity. She remains committed to empowering workers and strengthening the labor movement.
